Meet The Pleasant Pheasant
This stately arm chair was found at a thrift store and was already stripped back to the frame. The wood was not in great condition, but with a few repairs and painting it in a glossy black it was ready to shine. After completing the initial work of webbing, foam, etc., it was time to cover it in a special fabric. This vintage fabric was found on a bolt in a thrift store a few years ago. I always thought it was striking but hadn’t used it on anything in my home, so when I decided to reupholster a chair as a gift for a friend it was obvious to me to use this beautiful fabric. Sometimes I use two or three different fabric patterns on one chair but this fabric deserved to be the center of attention. The custom double piping trim also in the same fabric gives a beautiful finish.
