Meet Bluebell
If you look closely at the fabric of these lovely chairs you can see why I named them Bluebell! The flowers resemble the bell-shaped perennial herbs that emerge to flower from April onwards indicating that spring is in full swing. If the fabric was red and green one might use it at Christmas as some of the flowers, to me, look like ornaments! I am glad the fabric is a classic blue and white and not red and green as these chairs can be used anywhere and at any time of the year!
These chairs were part of a set of four that I split up because two matching chairs serve wonderfully at a café table in a breakfast nook, like I have done in my home, or just as extra seating in a living, family, or dining room!
These beauties were destined for the landfill when I found them. The backs were originally worn cane which I cut out to upholster. I prefer upholstered chairs as they offer a warmth and softness to a room, all while inserting texture and pattern.
As with all my chairs, they were stripped down to the frame, painted, and then built back up with new webbing, foam, Dacron and fabric. In case you are wondering, the beautiful blue paint colour is called Tidal by Behr.
